Excel fitness Review

If you want a membership to one of the cleanest gyms around, Excel Fitness is where it is at! This gym has greatness written all over it from the wonderful ladies who work the front desk to the helpful management that keeps this gym running. Although, this gym may be costly at a rate of $45 a month (non-tenant) and $35 a month (tenants) it is well worth it.

To start, there are designated parking spots located in a gated garage attached to the Excelsior Apartments. Now, I highly suggest you call ahead time before trying to enter the gym because it can be perplexed for first timers. Once you enter the gym, you will see an empty studio room available for use. As of now, they do not have any classes running such as Zumba and/or Yoga, but hopefully will have it sometime in the near future. Personally, I like to workout in the studio room for privacy and comfort as I can get self-conscious.

Excel Fitness Tour

Just a couple steps away is the main gym where you will be greeted with a warm, friendly, welcome from someone at the check-in desk. It is very simple, once you are a member they give you a member tag that you will use to scan in each time you come to workout. Now, you have to remember this gym isn’t going to be the biggest gym you’ve ever visited being that it is a part of an apartment building located in the basement. The music is usually high energy to get you pumped for your workout at a volume that isn’t too overwhelming. The temperature is always at a cool, comfortable setting.

The gym has five treadmills, three bikes, three elliptical machines, free weights, yoga mats, and much more. There is one water fountain available to members in case they do not have anything to drink. The gym is always immaculate and they definitely take pride in how clean they keep the gym for its members. There are two stations located in the gym where members can grab a wipe to clean down the machine they just used. There is only one person available for training and if you want to book a session with him you must call to make an appointment. The gym has labeled locker rooms for men and women. Inside you will find, bathrooms, showers, lockers, and a single sauna room. However, take note that you must have your own towel, as the gym does not provide any towels for you.

The Little Extras

Members of the gym are allowed to use the pool that is located on the floor above the gym. It is a large pool with enough room for a person to do laps back and forth. Now if a membership isn’t something you may want, they give you the option of either buying one month with no contract, a day pass, or a week pass (which is great for friends or family who are visiting). They are open seven days a week with hours that are suited for everybody. On the weekdays they are open from six in the morning to ten o’clock at night and on the weekends from seven in the morning to six o’clock at night. Overall, this gym has the quality that most gym-goers look for. Don’t take my word for it? Do yourself a favor and check out Excel Fitness!
